       몇몇 사람들은 시급한 조치가 취해져야 함을 인식한다.

▶ When you are talking about the idea or process of doing something, action is uncountable.

     생각이나 어떤 것을 행하는 과정에 대해서 얘기할 땐 셀 수 없는 명사로 쓰임.

※ ‘take action’ 조치를 취하다라는 뜻으로 쓰일 때도 셀 수 없는 명사로 쓰임.

 

32. We’d like to know more about the actual crisis (Not the problems of the past).

      We’d like to know more about the present crisis (Not the problems of the past).

        우리는 현재의 위기에 대해서 더 많이 알기를 원한다.

▶ actual = real (as opposed what is believed, planned or expected)

     믿어지거나 계획되어진 혹은 기대되어진 것의 반대로써 실제의, 현재의 라는 뜻.

    present/current = happening or existing now.

     지금 발생하거나 존재하고 있는

      나는 결코 이 도시가 지겹지 않다. 사실, 내가 돌아 올 때마다 나를 흥미롭게 하는 새로운 것을 발견한다.

▶ When actually means ‘in fact’, it is usually used to correct a misunderstanding.

     주로 ‘사실’이라는 의미는 오해를 바로잡을 때 사용한다.

   When you simply want to develop a previous statement, use in fact or as a matter of fact.

     간단히 이미 언급한 말을 하고 싶을 땐 ‘in fact’, ‘as a matter of fact’를 사용.

      We need to produce and export more than we do at present.

        우리는 현재 보다 더 많이 생산하고 수출해야 한다.

▶ When you mean ‘at the present time’, use at present, at the moment or currently (NOT actually)

     ‘현재’를 의미하고 싶을 땐, ‘at present’, ‘at the moment’ or ‘currently’를 사용.
