       우리는 컴퓨터 덕분에 정보에 쉽게 접근한다.

▶ access = an uncountable noun

     셀 수 없는 명사

 

17. Her car was involved in a big accident.

      Her car was involved in a serious accident.

         그녀의 차가 심각한 사고에 연루되어있다.

▶ a bad/dreadful/nasty/serious/fatal accident(NOT big)

    단어마다 각각 쓰이는 연어가 있음을 항상 주의하자. 하나의 덩어리로 외우는 게 좋겠죠^^*

      Could you help me look for accommodation?

         제가 숙박시설을 찾는다 도와주시겠어요?

▶ In British English accommodation (= a place to stay or live in) is always uncountable

     영국영어에선 항상 셀 수 없는 명사로 쓰임.

 

19. Accommodations in London are very expensive.

     Accommodation in London is very expensive.

       런던의 숙박시설은 아주 비싸다.

▶ In American English both accommodation and accommodations(plural) are used.

     미국영어에서 둘 다 사용가능.

 

20. To accomplish world unity, we need peace.

      To achieve world unity, we need peace.

         세계 화합을 이루기 위해서 우리에겐 평화가 필요하다.

▶ accomplish = You manage to do it or complete it, especially something that gives you

    satisfaction

     특히 만족을 주는 것을 그럭저럭 하거나 완성하다.

    achieve = You manage to do or obtain what you have planned to do or obtain, especially after a lot of
effort.

       특히 많은 노력을 한 뒤 그럭저럭 하거나 하기로 계획했던 것을 얻다.
