      나는 런던에 방문 할 곳이 많아서 어디를 가야 할 지 결정할 수 없었다.

▶ can = with verbs of perception (e.g. see, hear, smell)

   and verbs of the mind (e.g. understand, decide, remember), we usually use can, can’t, etc.

    can, can’t는 주로 인식동사, 정신동사와 함께 쓰인다.

 

7. We weren’t able to stop laughing.

    We couldn’t stop laughing.

       우리는 웃음을 멈출 수 없었다.

▶ can’t/couldn’t stop doing ~할 수 없었다.

 

8. In some countries you are not able to drink until you are 21.

    In some countries you can’t drink until you are 21.

      몇몇 나라에서는 21이 될 때까지 술을 마실 수 없다.

▶ For actions that are controlled by laws or rules, use can, can’t, etc, or be (not) allowed to.

      법, 규율에 의해서 통제되는 행동일 때

    Technology has enabled them to grow their own food.

       그들은 기술에 의해서 음식을 키울 수 있었다.

▶ enable = make someone able to do something

     can stop doing과 마찬가지로 두 번째 표현으로 써야 된다.

      Since I was small, I’ve always wanted to go abroad.

          나는 어릴 때부터 항상 해외에 가길 원했다.

▶ give/live/be abroad (WITHOUT to, at, in etc)

    abroad단어 안에 전치사의 의미를 내포
